3 Questions To Ask Before Renting A Waterfront Wedding Venue

Blog

Have you always wanted to have a wedding on the water? If so, you're likely looking into venues that offer the ability to have your wedding along a waterfront. Before you book a venue just because they have the view that you want, make sure to ask them the following questions.

Do Other Weddings Have Access To The Waterfront At The Same Time?

The first thing you'll want to find out is about how many other weddings take place at the venue at the same time, and if they are allowed access to the water simultaneously. If this is the case, you may want to find out more information about how the two wedding parties are separated. Does having access to the outside of the venue end up mixing the two parties together, or are they both separated to give your wedding party some privacy? Of course, this may not even be an issue if only one wedding is held at the venue at the time.

Does The Public Have Access To The Waterfront?

Another thing to consider is what kind of public access you will have to deal with when having a waterfront wedding. For example, the wedding venue may be adjacent to a beach and give you and your guests access to the sandy area. However, the beach may be public instead of private, and the public will have access to the beach at the same time. This may or may not be desirable for you, so make sure that you know the answer to this very important question.

Will There Be Outdoor Access If The Weather Is Bad?

Sometimes the venue will not have access to the water, but supply an outside area that provides a great view of the water and makes a great backdrop for photos. Unfortunately, you won't be able to predict the weather on your wedding date when you select it months or years in advance. You'll want to find out what will happen to the outdoor part of the venue if the weather ends up being bad. For example, the wedding venue may have the ability to cover the outdoor portion of the venue with a tent, so guests can still go outside and enjoy the view without getting wet.
