Eloping: Some Of The Best Places To Run Away To For A Wedding

Blog

Eloping: some consider it a selfish thing to do, while others consider it quite romantic. Really, it depends on who you are. Are you one of the two happy and in-love people running away to get married? Or are you among the families who wanted to throw a huge, expensive party? If you are part of the happy couple, then eloping is a wonderful and fantastic idea. Here are some of the best places to elope to for a wedding.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is the eloping couples' dream. There are dozens of chapel ceremony venues, all with wedding ceremony packages from which you and your spouse-to-be can choose. If you like, you can even have a drive-thru ceremony that lasts about three to five minutes, as long as it takes to order and receive a slice of wedding cake off the venue's menu of services. After the ceremony, you can honeymoon in Vegas, too.

The Bahamas

If you are a little older, a little wiser, and a little wealthier, you can elope to the Bahamas. Marriages on the beach happen every day, and your witnesses and guests just happen to be the guests on the beach. Plus, Bahamian weddings are recognized as legal and binding marriages once you return to the United States.

The Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

For couples that love the outdoors and the fresh air, you could elope to Tennessee and get married in a church in the Smoky Mountains. When the ceremony is over, stay in a cabin where it is peaceful and quiet and none of your kinfolk is likely to find you. Some wedding packages for this elopement are offered as well.

Napa Valley Wine Country, California

Marriage in a vineyard can be quite elegant. A simple celebration of wine tasting, cake, and a light barbecue or picnic meal usually follow. Resorts dot the countryside if you plan to stay in the area, rather than returning home after your ceremony has ended.

Mackinac Island, Wisconsin

This peaceful little island in the middle of Lake Michigan off the eastern coast of Wisconsin is a throwback to very early nineteenth century lodgings. Everything here is old and beautiful, and the peace is never disturbed by car horns, as cars are not allowed. Everyone goes about by horse and buggy (very romantic!) or on foot. Fall weddings, especially when the leaves change color, are particularly beautiful here.

planning a successful and beautiful wedding

Over the years, I have been the maid-of-honor in nearly 20 weddings and planned a wedding of my own. All of the weddings that I have been in have allowed me to learn a lot about what works well and what complicates matters and sets a wedding up for disaster. Here on my blog you will find tips to make your wedding planning easier and advice for planning the wedding of your dreams. You will learn how to prepare for disasters and how to handle yourself when one arises. Hopefully by the time you reach the conclusion, you will have new ideas sparked and be ready to take on this big challenge.
